In addition to developing AMURAD (Automatic up-rising construction by advanced technique), Japanese construction giant Kajima also developed the Kajima Cut and Take Down Method for demolishing buildings bit by bit. Their rivals Shimizu Corporation are also looking to muscle in on robot construction with SMART (Shimizu Manufacturing system by Advanced Robotics Technology). Their Shimizu’s Dream page is a fine little slice of speculative futurism, undated but timeless in its optimism.
